External Investigative Reporting identifies, analyses, and investigates financial crime risk to support informed decision making and effective information sharing internally and externally.

Operating a series of first line of defence controls and driving their coordinated performance, it supports FCC, RC, and the business, proactively keeping on top of threats and driving the use of cutting edge technology and analytics to detect and mitigate financial crime risk.

We are currently seeking an experienced individual to join this team in the role of Investigator, External Investigative Reporting, HBFR

In this role, you will:

- Support HSBC France by investigating correspondent banking transaction monitoring cases. This will involve assessing payments for the possible presence of money laundering or terrorist financing.
- Help implement the GSNA TM solution for HBFR.
- Collating facts and evidencing findings creating a comprehensive report of the presence or absence of financial crime risk.
- Manage your own investigation quality ensuring this is aligned to the banks internal procedures, ensuring all work completed and decisions are founded in strong analysis, to prevent any policy or non-policy findings.
- Submit written reports to the SAR filing Team in HBFR (in English, however, French speakers/writers are being sought).
- Manage investigations to deliver against Service Level Agreements (SLA).

Requirements

To be successful in this role you should meet the following requirements:

- Experience of conducting research and analysis, which culminates in writing reports.
- Ability to make a reasoned judgement from all the facts available as to whether activity on an account warrants suspicion of criminal activity.
- Strong report writing skills.
- Speaking and writing in French is a very desirable competency, but not mandatory.
- Investigative experience is desirable but not required.
