**Salary**: National ranging from £51,200 to £64,000 and London ranging from £56,400 to £70,400

The team/ department
We are looking for three Senior Associates to support the Manager and Lead Associate of a new Data Protection function within Risk and Compliance Oversight. This is a rare opportunity to help redevelop how the FCA manages personal data which will have a real impact in protecting consumers and markets.
What you will be doing (the role)- Helping to establish and embed a new structure for Data Protection within the FCA’s 2nd line of defence- Support the Data Protection team manager and Lead Associate in redesigning and updating the FCA’s approach to compliance with relevant legislation including, but not limited to development work on the Record of Processing Activities (ROPA), designing risk based training programmes, reviewing, and updating the FCA’s approach to data protection complaints management and other associated work-
- Provide expert advice across all parts of the FCA (and Payment Systems Regulator (PSR)) on all elements of data protection and privacy including, but not limited to, the UK General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) and Part 3 of the Data Protection Act (aka the Law Enforcement directive)- Provide assurance that the FCA is acting in compliance with relevant law and regulation- Assess organisational training needs, design, and deliver training programmes and provide training on data protection best practice to the FCA and PSR- Lead on or assist the Data Protection Team manager and Lead Associate in incident response for non-major data breaches and support the Data Protection Officer (DPO) in the response to major breaches. Incident response may require work outside of normal working hours

We support hybrid working which means you will be able to work from home up to 60% of the time over a month with the remainder of your time in one of our three office locations.
The skills and experience you will have
Minimum- Experience with data protection law and/or practice- Experience of coaching and mentoring staff- Experience of designing, implementing, and running data protection systems and controls and designing and delivering training programmes
Essential- Demonstrated experience in the prioritisation of competing tasks and managing internally and externally high-profile issues- Evidenced capability to make decisions based on finely balanced judgements- A high degree of stakeholder management skills - being able to sell the value of data protection to the organisation- Experience in incident management and resilience in the face of high-profile incidents
