The Cancer Research UK Cambridge Institute (CI) is a joint venture between Cancer Research UK and the University of Cambridge and is situated on the Addenbrooke's Biomedical Campus in Cambridge. The Institute aims to link the laboratory to the clinic, carrying out cancer research of direct relevance to patients. We aim to save more lives by preventing, controlling, and curing cancer. Due to expansion of our grants portfolio, we have an exciting opportunity for two further Research Grants Administrators to join our Research Grant and Finance team.

The position would suit at energetic person that has already gained experience in research grant management or who has previously worked in a financial role or obtained their financial qualifications and is looking to start a career in research grants management.

Working under the supervision of the Research Grants Manager, the role holder will take responsibility for the planning of their own portfolio of grants, ensuring all conflicting deadlines are met.

Your key responsibilities will be:

- Taking decisions to ensure the departments exposure to financial risk is minimised through careful selection of VAT status, identifying ineligible costs, managing non-payment of invoices and ensure compliance with funders terms and conditions.
- Preparing invoices and financial statements in both sterling and foreign currencies.
- Analysing financial reports.
- Preparing forecasts.

You will have outstanding team working skills alongside strong financial skills and the ability to prioritise workload to meet strict deadlines. You will be able to demonstrate excellent written English and the ability to interpret and fulfil precise requirements with meticulous attention to detail.
