**Permanent, Part Time 29.6 hours per week.**

Our Welfare Rights and Money Advice Service (WRAMAS) is looking for an experienced and dynamic Welfare Rights Adviser to join our specialist team.

This post has become available due to new funding allowing us to extend our services to provide advice to refugees.

You will join our Welfare Rights Support Service, providing specialist benefits advice to support workers across the city. Your key aim will be to maximise access to welfare benefits.

Your work will include giving telephone welfare benefits advice on our helpline for support workers, delivering training and providing representation to clients at First Tier Tribunal social security appeals. We anticipate that this will include a high proportion of universal credit, as well as fitness for work and disability benefits.

To join our team as a Welfare Rights Adviser, you need to have substantial recent advice work experience, including representing or writing submissions for claimants at benefit appeal tribunals.

You must have good knowledge of the full range of benefits legislation and caselaw. You also need to have excellent communication skills, for example to explain key aspects of welfare reform to non-specialists, and the ability to manage and progress a personal caseload.
