The department has an international reputation for its development of laser techniques in otology and was the first ENT department to use Leica 3D imaging for teaching in theatre.

The post has been developed to

1) provide advanced specialist training in otology and neurotology (including the use of the laser in otology),

2) help support the activity of consultants with a specialist interest in otology.

3) provide oncall support for the department

The post is a full time post for 10 sessions per week. One session will be allocated for CPD. There are seven fixed sessions per week and an average of one flexible session per week to enable the successful applicant to deputies for operating lists and out-patient sessions when others are on leave. So far as is consistent with the proper discharge of duties, the post holder undertakes to deputies from time to time for absent colleagues. The post-holder undertakes exceptionally, to perform additional duties in occasional emergencies and unforeseen circumstances. The post-holder undertakes, exceptionally, to be available for such irregular commitments outside normally rostered duties as are essential for continuity of patient care. **Hugh Wheatley**: Head & Neck including Oncology

**Charles Hall**: Head & Neck including Oncology

**Matthew Clarke**: Otology, Neurotology

**Tira Galm**: Rhinology; Paediatric ORL

**Oke Okungwo**: Rhinology

Syama Basu Rhinology and Larynology

Nina Mistry Otology, Pediatric ENT

The ENT service is supported by a team of dedicated ENT theatre, ward and outpatient nursing staff. There are comprehensive audiological facilities together with a speech and swallowing department. The Head & Neck cancer teamare also supported by specialist MacMillan nurses, dietetics, palliative care and pain management team.
