An opportunity has arisen for an Operational Lead to join the musculoskeletal service at Central London Community Healthcare NHS Trust. The MSK service is led by a Consultant Physiotherapist and includes an Advanced Practice Physiotherapy Interface service, injection therapy, access to imaging, pelvic health, orthopaedic clinical assessment and various evidence based rehabilitation programs. The CLCH MSK Physiotherapy service is committed to ongoing research and innovation. As part of Health Education North Central and East London, you will also have access to various funded courses.

Working in collaboration with the other clinical / team leads to provide clinical leadership, operational leadership, supervision and guidance to the community MSK services.

**She/he will be required to**:

- Provide clinical / team leadership to the community MSK service
- Line manage a group of community therapists and support workers
- Manage the MSK and ICMSK Budget
- Monitor and manage waiting times within the MSK and ICMSK services
- Manage the department to meet the service specification for the provision of MSK Physiotherapy and ICMSK services
- Represent the MSK and ICMSK and CLCH NHS Trust externally promoting the department and the trust vision and values
- Champion integrated working with all health and social care providers ensuring personalized and quality care for patients

Lead on the development and implementation of clinical quality and performance standards across community MSK.

The post holder is expected to demonstrate clinical expertise in the care of adults in the community setting, working approximately 10-20% of the time in the clinical environment dependent on clinical demand requirements and operational demand requirements.

To use advanced clinical skills and expert knowledge to carry out thorough assessments of MSK needs in order to develop comprehensive care plans that aim to optimize health and wellbeing.

Act as an expert clinical resource to support junior staff members in clinical practice and provide clinical supervision.

To work with the clinical lead to facilitate the translation of national policy and NICE evidence based care into local delivery, providing an expert MSK perspective in relation to the planning and delivery of an integrated, patient focused service across the care pathway.

Lead on areas of clinical practice as agreed in discussion with other clinical and professional/leads the development and implementation of related operational protocols and procedures.

Act as a role model by working alongside staff supporting them to positively influence change, maintaining high standards of clinical practice.

To ensure involvement of the patient, and their carers, in decision making to improve understanding of their health care needs promoting self-care as appropriate.

Be aware of the support services available for patients and carers from statutory, voluntary and ancillary agencies.

To be alert to the needs of vulnerable patients, identifying risk of possible harm and taking appropriate action as required.
