As part of the Trust’s Digital Transformation Team, the post holder will support the Trust’s digital transformation and strategy priorities by ensuring any elements of digital change are assessed for clinical safety and signed off by the Trust’s Clinical Safety Officer.

The post holder will support the Digital Safety Manager alongside other colleagues across Digital and the rest of the Trust across the full life-cycle of a range of projects to ensure that the standards for Clinical Risk Management: DCB0160 are met for any digital change and may lead the clinical risk management process for smaller, less complex changes.
- Leading and planning the clinical risk management activities for multiple smaller scale and less complex projects in accordance with agreed standards
- To support the Digital Safety manager in delivering clinical risk activities which form part of the clinical risk management process
- Support hazard identification
- Reviewing clinical risks for further roll-out of existing system version releases with significant functionality enhancements to add value to services
- Identifying the training needs of end users in relation to associated project deliverables and develop and where appropriate, deliver structured training within the context of any risk mitigation plans
- Participate in relevant project team meetings as part of implementation, weekly to monthly depending on delivery plan
- Supporting the development of clinical risk management documentation which requires reporting to relevant groups and the Clinical Safety Officer via the Digital Safety Manager
- Escalating, logging and management of risks, issues and changes
- Supporting the Digital Safety Manager to maintain Clinical risk Management files for clinical systems and changes
- Supporting the Digital Transformation Relationship Manager with information gathering and process analysis

Based in the North East of England we provide a range of hospital and community health services from our leading facilities including the Queen Elizabeth Hospital, Blaydon urgent care centre and Bensham Hospital, all within Gateshead.

Established in 2005, we were one of the first foundation trusts in the country and since then have consistently achieved the highest levels of care for patients.

As a group we employ around 4,200 staff and currently provide 600 hospital beds across Gateshead. Our primary focus is on providing excellent general health services to our local community complemented by key specialist areas including Gynaecology, maternity, palliative care and old age psychiatry.

Alongside a full range of local hospital services, we provide breast screening services for Gateshead, South Tyneside, Sunderland and parts of Durham - and we are the North Eastern hub for the National Bowel Cancer and AAA Screening Programmes, covering a population of around seven million people.

The post holder will either lead or play a key role in the following areas:

- To support the delivery of the Trusts digital strategy by leading and planning the clinical risk management activities for multiple smaller scale and less complex projects in accordance with agreed standards and project timescales
- To support the Digital Safety manager in delivering clinical risk activities which form part of a larger project or programme’s clinical risk management process
- Support hazard definition through process mapping and knowledge gathering
- Support will vary between implementing administrative and clinical changes to ways of working. Depending on the size, scope and complexity, project allocation of time per project can vary in line with the programme plan managed by the Digital Transformation Relationship Manager
- Responsible for reviewing clinical risks for further roll-out of existing system version releases with significant functionality enhancements to add value to services. Business processes and identified clinical hazards to be reviewed prior to system acceptance of any new release
- Responsible for identifying the training needs of end users in relation to associated project deliverables and develop and where appropriate, deliver structured training within the context of any risk mitigation plans
- Participate in relevant project team meetings as part of implementation, weekly to monthly depending on delivery plan
- Supporting the development of clinical risk management documentation which requires reporting to relevant groups and the Clinical Safety Officer via the Digital Safety Manager
