Peer Recovery Worker; Parttime post (Band 3)within Enablement Pathway
- Trust wide & as part of Mental Health Transformation (Community Mental Health Services).

(flexible working Available)

An exciting opportunity has arisen within Coventry and Warwickshire Partnership NHS Trust for people with lived experience of receiving care from mental health rehabilitation services or other secondary mental health care support to join our Enablement Pathway as Peer Recovery Workers (Peer Support Workers).

You will work within a dedicated, mental health, community enablement pathway, whilst supporting the current Transformation programme across secondary mental health care services within Coventry and Warwickshire. You will support adults with ongoing difficulties and rehabilitation needs as a result of their mental health. Although rewarding, the work can be challenging and involves supporting people in the community who may at times be in in-patient and residential settings

One of our Peer Recovery Workers describes the work in a nutshell:
“I would firstly say that in terms of recovery we all sit on a continuum and my role is to help guide people as best of possible along this journey for the best possible recovery outcome for them. Also, I will help people and provide tools that will continually support them throughout their life.”

By using your own experience of receiving care from mental health rehabilitation services or other secondary mental health care support and recovery, you will offer emotional and practical support to people who are accessing these services. You will evidence and show visible recovery; showing that change is possible and giving a strong message of hope. You will be a positive role model, helping to inspire, motivate, guide and support people in working towards their recovery. You will help build understanding and trust so that people are more able to work with our teams and partners, helping people move to a positive future.

Within the Enablement pathway you will work alongside a rehabilitative framework of empowering and enabling, whilst maximising independence and adhering to a recovery focused outcome whether this be employment, training or sustained meaningful activity and routine.

You will also be expected to support and promote a set of values that maximise the potential of individuals by promoting their recovery with the aim of reducing social exclusion, stigma and the potentially disabling effects of severe mental illness
