**Job Title**: Peer Mentor Support Worker Department: Children and Young Peoples Services Salary: £22,011 per annum Hours: 37 hours per week (including evenings and weekends) Contract: 1 Year Fixed Term About The Service Our service offers a dynamic, community-based model of support for young adults, featuring life skills workshops, engaging activities, and a comprehensive peer mentoring program. Additionally, we provide essential services such as signposting, referrals, appointment accompaniment, and collaboration with other professionals. Young adults will receive personalised support, including information, goal setting, advice, strategies, and guidance to deepen their understanding of mental health challenges. We assist those transitioning from child to adult mental health services, young adults leaving care, and individuals who have never accessed mental health interventions, fostering a smoother journey towards mental well-being Key Responsibilities include: To encourage, inspire, motivate, and assist the young adult who access the peer mentoring service Working alongside buddy mentors, carry out comprehensive and holistic assessments and develop a package of support appropriate to individual needs.

To work as part of a team that provides 1-1 and group-based programs to young adults in community settings. To prioritise young adults needs at all times, supporting individuals to identify their needs and work towards them learning how to set goals. To assist in the recruitment of young adult experts, buddy mentors and volunteers to support service delivery. To hold a direct caseload, support assessments, provide signposting, supported referral and liaison between agencies, including VCSE and statutory providers.

To work with partner agencies to identify and meet young adults needs. To assist with training and presentations to buddy mentors and the wider multi agency network as directed by the service manager. Essential Criteria includes: Relevant experience of providing support to children and young adults. Lived/professional experience of mental health.

Ability to engage and motivate individuals accessing support, including developing and delivering a programme of activities. Up to date knowledge of mental health specifically in relation to young people and families. A commitment to the participation of young adults and parents/carers in decision-making processes, and in the design and delivery of the services they access. A commitment to ongoing personal development and training.
