Apprentice Peer Support Worker

A wonderful opportunity has arisen within Coventry and Warwickshire Partnership NHS Trust for people with lived experience of mental health recovery to join our lived experience workforce.
By using your own lived experience of recovery you will be supporting people who are accessing these services. You will evidence and show visible recovery; showing that change is possible and giving a strong message of hope and understanding. You will be a positive role model helping to inspire, motivate, guide and support our people to engage with services and work on their recovery. Using your lived experience you will offer emotional and practical support, helping people move to a positive, meaningful and fulfilled future.
Applicants must have lived experience and will ideally have received support from rehabilitation services or support from secondary care mental health services. Prior participation in the two-day Peer Worker training provided by the Recovery and Wellbeing Academy or other formal Peer Worker training or experience is very advantageous. You will be expected to undertake a further course of training provided by ImROC once in post.
The roles are for a fixed term of 18 months and include support for you to study for an apprenticeship in health care Level 3 however, once you have completed the Care Certificate standards, attained a good standard of work in your qualification and your manager is happy with your progress you will move into a Band 3 role whilst you complete your qualification.
Hours will include days evenings, weekends and bank holidays
This is a community support worker role, which will require you to travel across Coventry and Warwickshire
