**What you’ll be doing**
As our Fire Safety Co-Ordinator you’ll provide technical advice to the station of fire safety when installed systems are impeded or unavailable, and work closely with the fire safety engineers and emergency preparedness engineer to improve and optimise station response to fire.
You’ll also have responsibility for the co-ordinating the fire watcher and fire wardens groups, ensuring we have adequate numbers with the correct levels of training in order to support the stations fire safety culture improvements.
You’ll work closely with our document management team to ensure all fire related documentation is maintained in an up to date and appropriate standard. You’ll also complete regular plant walk downs to ensure compliance with fire risk assessments and other fire related standards.
**Who you are**
We are looking for our next Fire Safety Co-Ordinator to possess the following skills and attributes:
- A Fire Safety diploma or HNC/HND in appropriate Engineering or Science discipline and membership of the Institute of Fire Engineers (GIfireE or MIFireE) is required for this
- Experience of managing fire safety in a high hazard industry, including managing compliance with Regulatory Reform Order on a complex industrial high hazard site.
- The ability to work within a maintenance management system.
- Demonstrable experience of working closely with both internal and external regulators, keeping them appraised of compliance, and managing compliance and audit visits.
- Manage fire safety by co-ordinating a cross functional team, through regular fire safety meetings.
As part of the role you will be expected to join our Emergency Scheme and it is a requirement of the Scheme that you live within a 25 mile (30 minute) radius of the Station.
