As Recruitment Officer/ HR assistant at New Horizons you will be responsible for the organisation of recruitment, human resources tasks and day to day administration. This role is very important and supports the senior management team to support our managers to maintain our fantastic outcomes with young people, evidence though our Ofsted inspections.

**Recruitment Officer/ HR Assistant Job Description**

**Hours of work and holidays**

This post requires you to work a 40 hour week, Monday to Friday 9.00 am - 5.00 pm.

28 days holiday inclusive of bank holidays.
**Duties include**
- Answering the telephone and ensuring all messages are recorded and passed to the appropriate person
- To maintain a welcoming environment and appropriate hospitality for visitors as well as ensure the conference room is ready for any meetings/ training and the office is clean and tidy.
- Monitoring and ordering stationary
- Provide administrative support eg reports, sickness monitoring, taking of minutes and letters
- Oversee recruitment in seeking, arranging and completing recruitment checks in line with our safer recruitment policy
- Organizing and holding interviews
- Using job boards to advertise specific roles
- Processing DBS checks (including overseas checks)
- Retrieving and chasing references
- Organising start dates and training sessions for the new starters.
- Organising and monitoring ongoing training and attendance lists
- Meeting deadlines from senior management
- Being aware of guidelines and regulations which may effect your role (GDPR)
- Provide administrative support to the Office Manager, Area Managers and Directors
- Maintaining Databases
- Creating new publications by use of Publisher
- Filing of documents so that they can easily be found when needed
- Archiving of documents for safe keeping in line with current legislation
- Sort, distribute and record incoming mail and dispatch outgoing mail
- Photocopying etc
- Ability to use Internet for research if requested

**Also**:To carry out such duties as are required and as are commensurate with the grade of the post

**Person Specification**

**Education, knowledge & Experience**:

- GCSE or equivalent
- Qualifications in office administration is desirable but not essential
- Strong IT skills
- Recruitment experience is desirable but not essential

**Skills and abilities**:

- Must be competent in Microsoft Programmes e.g. Word, Access, Outlook, Excel and Publisher.
- Good verbal and written communication skills
- Takes responsibility of own work load, maintains high standards and accuracy
- Be able to work under pressure
- Able to develop strong relationships with our managers and across different departments
- Can focus to achieve deadlines
- Must be proactive with a good work ethic
- Good organisation skills
- Able to work as part of a team and on own initiative
- Flexible
- Proactive and good at problem solving
- Can do attitude

**Salary**: From £21,000.00 per year
