Norwich, United Kingdom Norfolk and Norwich University Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust Full time

The role is predominantly outpatient based but with some acute ward work when we have new diagnoses and children who are unwell requiring admission. There will be some opportunity to work from home also if desired. We work very closely with other members of both multidisciplinary teams including but not limited to specialist nurses, doctors, clinical psychologists and physiotherapists.

Both cystic fibrosis and diabetes are specialities which are continually evolving with developments in technology, pharmacology and research. The role is therefore exciting with endless opportunities for continuing professional development and service development. We have supported the enrolment of staff onto a master’s module in paediatric diabetes and will continue to support this as we endeavour to maintain a high-quality service. There are also opportunities to attend international conferences, national webinars, regional network group meetings, as well as departmental learning and development opportunities. As dietitians working in these two specialist areas, we meet both formally and informally to harness a supportive working environment and move the service forwards.

The department has two other teams including an Adult Team and a Paediatrics Team covering a vast array of specialities. We encourage practice supervision across the whole department, so staff can benefit from the wide range of experience and skills. The department promotes a communicative ethos so that everyone has a voice regardless of role or experience. We encourage feedback; and will support you in leading or contributing to change across the department or wider healthcare setting.
