**Job Details**

Senior Social Worker (co-ordinator) Emergency Out of Hours Social Work based at Bankhead Office, Glenrothes.

36 hours per week on a full-time permanent basis with a salary of FC9 £42,686.23 to £51,302.31 per year. It is essential that the post-holder is a qualified and experienced Mental Health Officer or willing to work towards this. Enhanced rate is paid for unsocial hours as part of shift pattern at time and third after 8pm and on weekends.

The role includes three x 8-hour shifts per week, with the remaining hours undertaking work on behalf of the Children and Families Social Work Contact Centre if additional hours have not been accrued.

The post-holder will be a qualified and experienced Mental Health Officer and the only designated Mental Health Officer during their working hours. Alternatively the post-holder will be willing to work towards their Mental Health Officer qualification and able to evidence the key capabilities of the role.

The post-holder will be the lead for Social Work during working hours, and responsible for providing an appropriate response to all referrals during this time with the support of a Social Worker. The role covers all Social Work services in Fife.

Senior Practitioner status reflect the responsibility of the role, including being the initial point of contact for any referrals when on-call overnight.

The post-holder will require to complete assessments for the Children and Families Social Work Contact Centre. Any additional hours accrued during the working week will be reduced from this balance. **The Person**

We are looking for an experienced, enthusiastic, proactive and resilient worker to join our team who is a qualified and experienced Mental Health Officer or willing to work towards this qualification.

As the role is Senior Practitioner, we are looking for applicants who can demonstrate positive leadership qualities and is able to evidence autonomous and confident decision making and problem-solving skills.

The successful applicant will:

- Be an accredited and experienced Mental Health Officer or working towards this qualification.
- Have relevant experience in Social Work ideally from a range of backgrounds.
- Be willing to work a shift pattern which includes evening and weekend work.
- Ability to evidence quality assessment skills, problem solving skills and be confident in decision making.
- Be able to evidence leadership skills and experience of additional responsibility.
- Have experience of working in partnership with other service to ensure positive outcomes.
- Contribute toward the learning and development of the team as well as supporting new and locum staff.
- Be able to approach performance positively and demonstrate the ability to use systems accurately to record and report on practice.
- Show good communication skills and IT literacy.
- Have the ability to travel throughout Fife.
- Be registered with the SSSC and maintain the CPD requirements for this.

**Before confirming your appointment, you will be required to obtain Protection of Vulnerable Groups (PVG) scheme membership through Disclosure Scotland and become a member of the relevant PVG scheme.**

**You will save money on your SSSC fees as these will now be paid for all roles and grades by the Scottish Government.**
