**The Post**
The Enterprise Programme Officer will take a lead role in coordinating enterprise support activities and services for start-up companies at the University of Stirling. The role holder will work to maximise the potential of the institution to support the establishment and growth of sustainable, responsible and innovative businesses. They will identify the appropriate range of support structures and mechanisms, including access to workshops, business advice, pre-accelerators, competitions, company creation resources, business incubation space, and networking opportunities to grow the institution’s innovation community.

Reporting to the Enterprise Programme Manager, the role holder will work collaboratively with members of the Enterprise Team, as well as colleagues from across the Directorate for Research, Innovation and Business Engagement, other Professional Services, and Academic Faculties.

This role will be based primarily in Stirling and will align with the University’s agile working framework, including the ability to provide on-site cover and/or work away from the office as required to engage effectively with partners and stakeholders.

**Description of Duties**
- Working with the University’s Enterprise Programme Manager, and within the University’s wider Enterprise Team, plan and deliver a range of enterprise support activities and services to facilitate the establishment and growth of responsible start-up companies of all kinds
- Manage the development and provision of enterprise support, ensuring activities and services meet diverse client [student, staff, and graduate founders] needs
- Work collaboratively with colleagues to ensure excellent provision of incubator facilities and wrap-around support for resident start-ups
- Line-manage student/graduate part-time interns
- Establish and manage external networks through which enterprise support can be informed, accessed, and delivered, including with intermediaries
- Working with the University’s Enterprise Programme Manager, and with the University’s wider Enterprise Team, contribute to communications and promotional activities, including the development of marketing collateral
- Contribute to the development and implementation of policy and best practice in the area of enterprise support, including systematic review and improvement of existing provision, and the development and introduction of appropriate new, policies and practices
- Work closely with Business Engagement & Development colleagues and the Enterprise Programme Manager to develop and deliver effective support when commercial research scenarios present enterprise/company creation opportunities in the form of start-ups and spinouts
- With the Enterprise Programme Manager, design and implement a structure that supports opportunities for holding appropriate equity stakes in the companies created
- Coordinate and prepare briefing papers, reports, proposals and other information relating to Enterprise Programme activity. Provide officer support for appropriate working groups and projects, ensuring that agreed actions are implemented
- Maintain, contribute to, and disseminate current expert knowledge of national and international issues in relation to enterprise and company creation
- As part of the Enterprise Team, build and maintain contact with enterprise networks to identify and increase engagement with growth and scale-up opportunities
- As part of the Enterprise Team, support the University’s participation in enterprise support networks. Liaise with internal and external stakeholders as required on a wide range of enterprise support related issues
- Deputise for the Enterprise Programme Manager as required
- Undertake such other duties as may be required, commensurate with the grade and nature of the role

**Essential Criteria**
- Educated to degree level or equivalent, or employment experience across a range of relevant roles with increasing levels of responsibility
- Extensive practical experience in a directly relevant role, including experience of working successfully in the area of enterprise education/support
- Proven ability to plan and deliver large scale events
- Experience of working successfully within complex regulations/frameworks.
- Knowledge of the current business landscape and of the wider policy context relevant to the Enterprise Programme, along with the capability to understand the impact on the ongoing operation and development of related opportunities
