Our client has a new exciting role for an experienced Site Facilities Manager, to work for one of the best manufacturing companies in the Portsmouth area, who pay competitive salaries, excellent benefits and a great working environment.

**Mission**

To ensure the office, factory shop floor and warehouse building facilities, the car park and the yard at the western end of the building are well maintained and kept safe and secure at all times i.e. 24/7/365.

Ensure the fabric of each of the buildings is maintained to good decorative order as well as ensure that the electrical, gas, pneumatic and HVAC systems are well maintained and serviced/repaired/refurbished annually or as and when necessary to.

Responsible for the project management of capital projects that affect the site facilities infrastructure e.g. the installation of new equipment such as air conditioning equipment, lifts, security doors, roof-mounted solar panels etc.

**Accountabilities**:

- To ensure the safe, efficient and effective management and utilisation of plant facilities and accordingly be active in contributing to the company’s Environment, Health and Safety management process.
- To actively seek out and make efficiency savings and or reductions to the relevant running costs.

**Responsibilities**:
**Site Maintenance**
- Inspection of site buildings, spaces and general site fabric to ensure general maintenance standards are achieved and importantly in accordance with Health and Safety requirements and government legislation.
- Manage the maintenance of the building by performing repairs or contracting maintenance services as needed, ensuring buildings function smoothly throughout their operational life and that any planned preventative maintenance programmes are carried out effectively.
- Identify, plan and co-ordinate on a rolling programme of repair/redecoration/refurbishment.
- Keep the surrounding grounds and parking facilities properly cared for and landscaped
- Supervise the site facilities’ spare parts inventory so that minimum levels are met. Identify critical items, reorder to maintain minimum levels and recommend improvements.
- Manage janitorial duties

**Services and Contract Management**
- Oversee the successful delivery and management of all outsourced contracts and services within the facility (including catering, cleaning, vending, security, waste disposal and utilities).
- Measure all service activities against recognised standards and propose appropriate and proportionate improvements to meet existing and future requirements.

**Contractor Management**
- Arrange works with suppliers and contractors, organising planned and reactive support as required.
- Liaise with contractors to obtain quotes and be their main point of contact.
- Manage all contractors on site, ensuring that all health and safety requirements are met, monitor their performance and check that work is completed in a satisfactory manner.
- Originates, approves and submits purchase orders and processes invoices from vendors, contractors and service providers for payment and manages communication with finance team members and other stakeholders as required.

**Emergency Response**
- Respond to and manage building and system emergencies as they arise.
- On occasions attend the company for out-of-core hours work.
- Hold security keys to cover emergencies and security. To be fully conversant with the systems/routines for the intruder and fire alarm.

**Efficiency Improvement / Budget Management**
- Contribute to the objective of achieving greater value for money in the maintenance and day to day running of buildings and site.
- Create and manage the service and facilities budgets and report on progress.
- Compare costs for various services and goods before choosing the best options for the facility
- To actively seek out and make efficiency savings and or reductions to the relevant running costs.
- Ensure energy consumption is in according to with the agreed energy reduction targets. Provide quarterly reports of energy usage.

**Development Responsibilities**:

- Day-to-day supervision of members of the facilities team
- Manage the Facilities team to identify areas, equipment, processes and procedures within the business for continuous improvement, make recommendations and work on improvement projects.
- Continuous professional development to maintain professional standards required of the role for yourself and your team

**Professional Skills**:

- Experience and demonstrable skill level in the use hand and power tools.
- To be trained in safely working at height from podiums and powered access equipment.
- Preferably hold a full UK driving licence.
- Demonstrate an understanding of applicable policies and procedures, prioritise and maintain conditions that ensure a safe working environment.
- A strong track record in project management from inception to completion inclusive of being able to work with disparate stakeholders
- Previous experience in working on or managing commercial premises
