**Job summary**:
We are looking for a Vetting Support Officer to join our fast-paced Security team at the Senedd.

You will be organised and have the ability to communicate effectively whilst maintaining privacy and dignity for those you assess. You will work within a critical business area that supports the management of security-vetted personnel to work within the Welsh Parliament estate.

The vetting department is an integral part of the Senedd. You will be the first point of contact for any vetting enquires from Senedd Members, Senedd Members’ Support Staff, Commission staff and other persons who work on the Senedd estates. The estate includes the Senedd, Ty Hywel, the Pierhead and satellite offices in other areas of Wales.

**Job description**:
As a Vetting Officer you will be responsible for assisting vetting of all those who work at the Senedd estate and Members Constituency, ensuring any personnel risks are identified and managed effectively.

In addition, you will be required to support the Personnel Security Manager in the successful implementation of the Vetting Strategy.
- To be the main reception point for all initial vetting requirements for new starters required to work within the Welsh Parliament (WP) estate, ensuring that suitable checks are carried out within the parameters of WP policy.
- To highlight any discrepancy in applicants vetting checks and report them to the Personnel Security Manager.
- Identifying personnel whose security clearance needs renewal and ensuring this is actioned prior to the lapse date.
- Maintenance of the personnel security vetting database(s).
- Liaison with vetting points of contact in other departments, ensuring that changes in policy are promptly distributed.
- Maintenance of digital vetting records in accordance with the Data Protection Act 2018, ensuring secure storage and appropriate disposal where required.

2. Excellent organisational and administration skills with the ability to prioritise workload accordingly
