As a key player in our friendly department, you'll contribute to the smooth operation of our vascular medical rotas and drive elective recovery efforts. Your efforts will ensure seamless care for vascular patients, from referral through to treatment and discharge, supporting the success of urgent vascular pathways.

In this role, you'll be responsible for coordinating rotas and staffing to meet our high standards, creating precise timetables and on-call schedules for both senior and junior medical staff. You'll be an integral part of a collaborative team dedicated to enhancing the experiences of both patients and staff, embodying our commitment to delivering excellent care with compassion.

As our new team member, you'll be at the heart of ensuring we meet our vascular national urgent pathway targets. Your responsibilities will include meticulously planning patients' appointments, investigations, and treatments to ensure timely care, while collaborating closely with the clinical team to prioritise patient treatment effectively.

You'll handle all administrative and clerical tasks related to urgent patient care, tracking and supporting patients from referral to treatment and discharge. This involves working with key team members, including the Performance Manager, Waiting List Clerks, Outpatient Clerks, Medical Secretaries, and both medical and nursing staff, to meet our target timescales for patient care.

Additionally, you'll manage the daily operations of the vascular medical rotas, accurately recording and responding to planned and unplanned absences, such as leave or sickness, and updating Healthroster for Vascular. You'll also oversee the allocation and management of additional capacity sessions as needed.

Your role will require effective communication across a wide range of disciplines, and your negotiation and persuasion skills will be crucial.

Develop and maintain effective working relationships with clinicians, managers and others within the Clinical Business Unit and Trustwide service users.
To provide a key link between the department’s management team ensuring that national vascular urgent pathway targets and any other local target set by the Trust are managed/coordinated effectively and deadlines are met.
