**About Our Client**:
Rent Support Officer - Manchester - Property and HousingA leading housing provider in the North West

Rent Support Officer - Manchester - Property and Housing
- Use our housing management system to monitor all rent accounts and generate appropriate communications to our customers.
- Carry out weekly system adjustments following the posting of Housing Benefit and DWP payments by our Finance team utilising available online benefit checkers and portals.
- Requirement of individual RSO's to support the Customer Service and Support team via the Duty rota.
- Set up appropriate payment methods for our customers.
- Complete income and expenditure forms with our customers and set up affordable repayment plans, signposting and referring to external agencies for specialist money and debt advice when necessary.
- Commence appropriate action on all arrears cases and arrange the service of Notice of Seeking Possessions in accordance with current policies and procedures.
- Prepare eviction approval requests for the Head of Communities in accordance with current policies and procedures.
- Execute eviction warrants in conjunction with the County Court Bailiff.
- Assist in the implementation of arrears campaigns, rent/service charge changes, year-end procedures, rent statements checks and credit refund campaigns.

**The Successful Applicant**:
Rent Support Officer - Manchester - Property and Housing
- Strong social housing background
- Strong knowledge of the current housing legislation
- Strong knowledge of the pre action protocol for possession claims by social landlords
- Experience of working within rent arrears
- Experience of implementing arrears and recovery procedures
- Experience of the court process and attendance to court
