**Job Description**:
**Please note this is a full time role, working 37.5 hours per week - Monday to Friday 09:00 till 17:00**.
The purpose of this post is to:
- To drive the key account initiatives into the organisation with a view on growth, profitability and efficiency improvements, setting a clear strategy and identifying the critical priorities within the customer base in order to identify profitable routes to market.
- To raise the bar in the commercial function in line with the organisation’s growth strategy to ensure a significant step-change in performance, working alongside the Commercial Director and other members of the leadership teams to drive a significant growth agenda.
Main duties to include:
- To be responsible for key account management, sales execution, and commercial activities within specific UK accounts
- To drive high impact leadership and direction to the customers within your portfolio, creating empowerment and facilitating customer growth.
- Lead by example when communicating to piers and management.
- To create an environment where year on year advancement is a necessity, to strategically identify the priorities within the customer base and develop larger customers and most importantly the correct customer mix.
- To initiate new ways of working, to develop long term alliances and implement creative ‘added value’ solutions which deliver significant sales growth and margin attainment.
- To develop and deliver the business strategy with the objective growing your specific customer base year on year.
- To recognise and understand new market opportunities and know what is required in bringing differentiated products and services to meet ever-changing customer demands. Commercial in nature with the ability to operate in a both a hands-on strategic capacity, you will understand the demands and drivers required to initiate high impact and credible commercial strategies for the retail and key teams.
- Continue to develop the market mapping understanding of the food manufacturing market to gain full understanding of the profitable sectors and target customers.
- To own all commercial sales from your key accounts, to raise the bar, achieve sustainable growth and profitability and drive the business to maximise its full potential.
- To understand the value drivers of the business and identify profitable and commercial opportunities to grow revenue and market share through new products and the extension of services to current and new clients and emerging markets.
- To gather and collate all market intelligence and data covering market trends and penetration, competitors, products/services and routes to market for the food manufacturing businesses.
- To hold experience of benchmarking and the ability to plan and determine how to beat the competition
**Qualifications**:
- Strong knowledge and experience in the laboratory testing market.
- Excellent excel, word and power point skills.
- To have the ability to astutely communicate to all levels of the business whilst utilising the experience of the other teams to maximise the service for the retail and key customer base.
- To have the ability to think and behave strategically
- To hold high level analytical and data-rational skills.
- To be able to lead a team to new heights of excellence and achieve major breakthroughs in sales performance.
- To hold high standards of interpersonal skills.
