_**Trainee Mental Health and Wellbeing Practitioner**_
- **NHS AfC: Band 4**_

**Contract **_12 months (12 month training contract - leading to a band 5 substantive position on successful completion of all academic and workplace based criteria_

This is an exciting time to be part of a new co-produced service for young adults (17-25 years) that aims to ensure that every interaction is used as an opportunity to make a positive difference.

**Main duties of the job**

This new service will strengthen the psychosocial offer for young people within the Black Country while they transition from child to adult mental health service provision (CAMHS to AMHS). In addition, the model will target disadvantaged groups within the 18-25 age bracket who are from specified groups such as care leavers, youth offenders, special educational needs and disabilities, and who also show signs of being most in need of additional support, and where services have not been managing to offer and provide effective assistance so far. The provision will work closely with social care and the voluntary sector, as well as to ‘wrap around’ the mental health provision within CAMHS and AMHS.

**Main responsibilities**

Within this position you would be able to use your skills and experience to contribute to the team building process and an empowering, psychologically informed culture. You will be supported to develop biopsychosocial formulations to make sense of distress and to collaboratively construct relevant plans of action. Over time, your psychological skills would be developed to be able to coach the use of several types of brief psychological interventions, including strengths based, CBT, family focused/systemic and DBT informed managing emotions skills. There will be opportunities for you to attend regular reflective practice sessions within the team, as well as clinical supervision.

The MHWP role and this service is newly created and these will be developed over time meaning that you will have the opportunity to contribute to these exciting advances.

Please get in touch to hear more about this new role that has been created as part of the community transformation programme.
