UKRI is making a major investment in its IT systems with Oracle Fusion due to be implemented across several business areas through the Services for HR, Accounting, Reporting & Procurement (SHARP) Programme in the summer of 2023, including the Finance and HR functions.

To support this, Finance is delivering an ambitious number of business change and continuous improvement activities to increase efficiency and effectiveness across their functions, as part of the Finance of the Future Programme.

The role of the Business Change Lead will be to work in partnership with the business to ensure that the change roadmap is co-created with stakeholders and colleagues, ensuring a collaborative and supportive approach to change in Finance.

You will lead, track and report on the strategies for successful engagement and adoption of change. A key part of the role will be to lead in ensuring that effective change communications and engagement are embedded throughout the business change lifecycle.

You will take a lead role in the baselining, measuring and tracking change readiness and adoption of change initiatives, advising the Finance Director and senior leadership team of actions, implications and plans to drive adoption and engagement of proposed changes.

**Key Areas of Accountability**

**Leadership/teamwork/ collaboration**
- Provide leadership and direction to the business change team, and formal line manage of certain roles.
- A pro-active approach to change - by developing strong relationships and understanding of key business areas, opportunities are planned and prioritised to create a realistic and achievable roadmap for change.
- Through strong relationships across the organisation, influence others to engage with and adopt change, and collaborate with colleagues and senior stakeholders to support successful delivery of outcomes.
- Work closely the Finance Senior Leadership Team, attending relevant SLT/Board meetings, to support effective leadership of business change and continuous improvement activities.
- Role model a positive, can-do mindset in relation to change, offering support and constructive challenge.

**Delivery**
- Lead in assessing business changes within the SHARP Programme, facilitating comprehensive change impact assessments, stakeholder mapping and adoption planning.
- Develop creative and sensitive approaches to change and engagement activity that make the most of existing technology channels, underpinned by relevant change management practice.
- Lead the design, baselining and tracking of trends in adoption and engagement with the planned changes, and produce strategies, checking actions are in place to drive adoption and engagement.
- Responsible for relationship management of key business areas ensuring a strong understanding what matters to them, their teams and their stakeholders.
- Work closely with key stakeholders to develop a compelling narrative around change and the change journey.
- Ensure the Finance of the Future Board has a clear view of the level and impact of change activities impacting our staff.
- Provide coaching at all levels on the practice of good change management.
- Lead the development of frameworks to drive increased engagement and provide smooth transition into BAU.
- Build and manage standard engagement and adoption channels, tools and techniques to support delivery, ensuring the channels of communication are complimentary and appropriate to the organisation’s needs
- You will need to be flexible in developing their role using Agile and Continuous Improvement to deliver Finance operational continuous improvement initiatives.

**Other**
- Finance reporting Annual Accounts to BEIS (Business, Energy, and Industrial Strategy) and yearly ‘Lessons Learned’ workshops/report.

**Essential skills, qualifications & experience**

**Qualifications**:

- Change Management qualification or equivalent experience

**Desirable**:

- Managing Successful Programmes Practitioner
- PRINCE2 Practitioner
- Project Leadership Programme

- Previous experience of managing and implementing successful change management, on one or more complex programmes
- Demonstrable ability to influence and engage with senior stakeholders
- Considerable stakeholder management experience and proven ability of working collaboratively to influence across teams and levels
- Ability to prioritise and resolve conflicting priorities
- Experience of successfully leading a team

**Desirable**:

- Experience of working in a complex and changing environment
