Bedford, United Kingdom East of England Ambulance Service Trust Full time

An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Directory of Services (DoS) Lead to work regionally across the East of England to improve patient outcomes via the Directory of Services. Within EEAST we currently use the MiDoS system which is accessed by all clinicians and some non-clinicians, it contains a mixture of NHS Services, voluntary and Local Authority services.

Day to day you will review feedback submitted by users for adjustment to the DoS, work with the Integrated Care Boards (ICBs) and other stakeholders to find, profile and maintain service entries. Provide expert DoS advice and recommendations as well as collate and action the needs of EEAST clinicians to ensure patients get the most appropriate help and care.

The post holder will also produce reports of used and underutilised services, number of searches performed. Gap analysis on service provisions along with other mapping exercises of patient journeys at varying times of the day/week.

The post holder will work within the Emergency Operations Centre directorate with strong leads to Operations, Clinician Assessment Service (CAS) as well as Business & Partnerships. Furthermore you will liaise with services directly, ICB DoS Leads, Commissioners and other stakeholders.

To be the expert on DoS, to be the interpreter of templates, profiling, DoS usage, structure, ranking strategy and implications of changes to profiling

The post holder will be required to work with NHS organisations to develop the concept of an integrated whole systems approach to Emergency and Urgent care

Provide specialist training to groups of multidisciplinary staff in the use and updating of the DoS database as well as the use of MiDoS and associated systems.

The post holder will contribute to a robust DoS content which will ensure that urgent enquiries can be effectively referred to appropriate services and will reduce use of A & E for non-emergency cases.
