Legal Aid Billing / Costs Administrator
Lawstop is a specialist firm of solicitors with offices in London, Brighton, Cornwall, Somerset, Hull, the Wirral, Sandwell, Leicestershire, and Rutland.
Due to recent expansion, an exciting opportunity has become available within our Billing & Costing Department. We are looking to recruit a legal aid billing administrator to work in our London office; days and times to be agreed.
Duties will primarily include: organising files for billing, drafting bills, time recording on LEAP legal software, uploading documents to CCMS (the Legal Aid Agency case management software), managing legal documentation and correspondence, making copies, answering and directing phone calls and liaising with external bodies, as well as other general duties.
Experience in legal aid billing is essential. We require a mature, self-motivated individual with good interpersonal and communication skills. You will be very organised and will be able to work independently with little or no supervision. You will also have good IT skills.
The role would suit the following:
- Someone that has worked as a / Paralegal / Legal Assistant dealing with legal aid work
- Someone looking for a starting point as a route into becoming a Costs Lawyer / Costs Draftsman;
