The Bury Black Pudding Company is looking to recruit a Quality Advisor to support, assist and advise the Technical Manager and Quality department in all areas relating to food safety, quality, legality and authenticity.

**Main Duties**:

- Responsibility for ensuring company Quality Management Systems is maintained.
- Prepare for BRC audits and assist with all BRC requirements pre / post audit.
- Assist the Technical & Quality Manager to prepare and present the annual quality review.
- Prepare for, and assist, the Technical & Quality Manager with all customer audits (e.g., Waitrose) and ensure customer requirements are met. Assist HR with SEDEX audits.
- Assist with the management of the HACCP system & team, ensuring the site is food safe and secure. Ensure HACCP files are up to date, allergen risk assessments and controls are in place and all validations and verifications are in place for process.
- Create new risk assessments where gaps have been highlighted and work with the Quality Department to review risk assessment schedule.
- Support the mock product recall process ensuring it takes place annually, traceability is correct and close out non-conformances from the process.
- Ensure all suppliers confirm to quality, safety and legality standards.
- Assist with creating and issuing product specifications.
- Work as part of a team on all corrective actions within the factory. This includes, but is not limited to, supplier non-conformances, log and oversee the admin for non-conformances & quarantine, root cause analysis, raise concessions, support factory issue process.
- Manage pest control and calibration schedule ensuring relevant certification is obtained.
- Assist the quality department with microbiology, chemical testing and analysis of results.
- Assist with, and resolve, non-conformances arising from internal audits.
- Audit non accredited BRC & service suppliers
- Liaise with Trading Standards and Environmental Health.
- Deliver specialised training to staff, allergen, food safety, HACCP etc.
- Deliver internal audit training to relevant staff to enable them to complete internal audits to the required standard.
- Monitor and maintain the audit system.
- Provide information for the monthly quality report. Attend and contribute to meetings as required and cover for the Technical Manager in their absence. Prepare all technical and quality reports within set timescales.
- Take part in all department rota’s / tasks.

**Person Specification**:

- Level 3 or 4 HACCP
- Excellent knowledge of food safety legislation (including HACCP & BRC)
- Background in food manufacturing
- Ability to communicate at all levels.
- Excellent attention to detail
- Ability to produce reports, analyse data and maintain records.
- Auditing experience
- Good computer and IT skills
