Health Care Support Workforce and Ahp
The healthcare support worker programme was launched in September 2019 to support NHS trusts to increase their HCSW recruitment, minimise vacancies, avoid reliance on temporary staff and so provide greater continuity of care for patients, and to support more people to progress into nursing, midwifery, and Allied Health Professional (AHP) roles in the future. National frameworks focussing on standardising competencies, education, and career developments have been developed for nursing, midwifery, and AHPs.
An exceptional opportunity is available for a motivated, dynamic individual who will be responsible for leading a multidisciplinary team to implement the programme and make it sustainable across nursing, midwifery, and AHPs for Whittington Health NHS Trust.
This involves reviewing the HCSW data to identify the workforce supply and demand and map the current provision at a local level and identify future workforce gaps. The postholder will be responsible for developing, implementing, and delivering a competency framework and training to meet the requirements of the frameworks.
The postholder will develop and embed apprenticeship pathways to support career opportunities and progression across Whittington Health NHS Trust
The post holder will contribute towards the building of a shared purpose and commitment to support HCSW transformation for Whittington Health and the wider North Central London Integrated Care System (ICS).
Please see the Job Description and the Persons Specification for further details about the job role. If you are unable to access the PDF, the details
of the job description can also be found in the 'Detailed Job Description and Main responsibilities' section.
Whittington Health serves a richly diverse population and works hard to ensure that all our services are fair and equally accessible to everyone.
Nowhere is this more obvious than in the way we look after our staff. We aim to employ a workforce which is as representative as possible of this
population, so we are open to the value of differences in age, disability, gender, marital status, pregnancy and maternity, race, sexual orientation,
and religion or belief. The Trust believes that as a public sector organisation we have an obligation to have recruitment, training, promotion and
other formal employment policies and procedures that are sensitive to these differences. We think that by doing so, we are better able to treat our
patients as well as being a better place to work.
