Dietetic Assistant Practitioner (Band 4)

Learning Disabilities Service

We have an opportunity for an enthusiastic individual to join our specialist dietetic service in an assistant practitioner role.

You will join a supportive team of dietitians providing specialist services for community learning disabilities within Bradford District Care NHS Foundation Trust (BDCFT). You will mainly support people requiring enteral tube feeding, working directly with service users and families in their own homes, collecting clinical and other information to implement agreed care plans.

We are looking for a highly motivated individual with the relevant qualifications, who has experience of working in a community care setting or with health/voluntary sector staff and the public. You will need excellent communication skills and a caring and compassionate approach.

You will be required to use a number of electronic systems and therefore need to be confident in the use of IT.

Why join our team?

Bradford is a diverse city and our patients have varying social, cultural, language and financial needs that make every day an interesting one. We welcome fresh ideas and enthusiastic people who like learning new skills and enjoy working with people and service users from a diverse background. You will be able to demonstrate empathy and a passion for working with others to support the delivery of quality care. Training and supervision will be provided from our team.

Bradford’s Nutrition & Dietetic Service has over 60 Dietitians and support staff working in Acute, Community and Primary Care settings, supported by an excellent clerical team with good IT facilities.

Professional development opportunities exist within the department and quality, clinical effectiveness and service user experience are given high priority.

We use values based recruitment as an indicator at interview and you may be asked to do a presentation if you are shortlisted.

Work areas may change depending on service demand so applicants do need to be flexible

Bradford is a vibrant city with a wide range of entertainment and leisure activities available locally. There are good road/rail networks to Leeds and the M62 corridor, with easy access to the Yorkshire Dales and the South Pennines.

Please see attached for the job description document for this post for further details in regards to the main responsibilities of the role.
