Fire and Theft Motor Claims Auditor

We are currently seeking a Fire and Theft Claims Handler to join our Motor team. We're looking for someone with a sharp eye for detail and strong investigation skills. In this role, your primary objective will be to efficiently handle fire and theft claims, ensuring accurate indemnity decisions are made. You'll need to be adept at communicating with customers over the phone, conducting interviews to verify the legitimacy of claims presented.
Key Responsibilities:
- Processing fire and theft claims in accordance with our existing claims philosophy.
- Ensuring compliance with Data Protection Act (DPA), Treating Customers Fairly (TCF), and other regulatory requirements.
- Collaborating with internal support teams and external suppliers to deliver excellent customer service.
- Handling inbound calls from customers and representatives professionally, addressing queries, complaints, and providing updates on claims.
- Identifying potential third-party claims exposure in theft claims, particularly in cases where stolen vehicles may be recovered damaged.
- Recognizing suspicious claims and reporting them to the Fraud Investigation Team.
- Recording complaints accurately and promptly in the complaints system.
- Supporting the Team Manager by meeting performance objectives, Key Performance Indicators (KPIs), and Service Level Agreements (SLAs).
- Planning and implementing strategic initiatives within agreed timelines.
- Maintaining a relevant level of technical understanding through continuous development and learning.
- Undertaking any individual or team tasks as requested and aligning with company values.
Experience/Knowledge Required:
- Minimum of 12 months' experience as a Motor Claims Handler.
Qualifications:
- Secondary education or equivalent with demonstrable proficiency in numeracy skills and written English.
