The AHSN NENC are looking for a highly motivated and passionate individual to join the team as a Service Improvement Lead and support the implementation of our Growing Occupational Health and Wellbeing Programme across three NHS trusts in the North East and North Cumbria.

**Job Title**: Service Improvement Lead

**Salary**:Starting from £48,513 per annum pro rata (dependant on experience).

**Hours of Work**: 37.5 per week (Monday-Friday)

**Contract Type and Duration**:Fixed Term - 12 months. Secondment opportunities will be considered.

**Base Location**: Newcastle upon Tyne

**Place of Work**: Flexible working arrangements will be considered, including working from home and office-based options. There is a requirement for regular travel across the North East region; South Tyneside and Sunderland NHS Foundation Trust, County Durham and Darlington NHS Foundation Trust and North Tees and Hartlepool NHS Foundation Trust.

**Responsible to**:Associate Director - Health Programmes. There will also be a reporting line into the Integrated Occupational Health and Wellbeing Board (IOHWB).

**Introduction**

The Academic Health Science Network for the North East and North Cumbria (AHSN NENC) is one of fifteen AHSNs set up with the aim of spreading innovation at pace and scale across the healthcare system, in order to achieve the ultimate goals of improving health and generating economic growth.

The AHSN NENC is commissioned by NHS England/NHS Improvement(NHSE/I), the Office for Life Sciences & member organisations to lead several programmes of work across the themes of Health Improvement, Patient Safety, Economic Growth and Digital Transformation, all of which encompass a range of innovative and high impact projects delivered regionally.

**Overview of the Role**

Working as a Service Improvement Lead, you will be responsible for the development of occupational health and wellbeing services participating in the North East North Cumbria Growing Occupational Health and Wellbeing Pilot.

The role will involve the implementation of a digital solution across the three organisations, ensuring streamlined care pathways and standardised reporting of metrics and key performance indicators.

To establish a culture of wellbeing across the organisations the Service Improvement Lead will work with the Integrated Occupational Health and Wellbeing Board (IOHWB) and health and wellbeing leads in the participating organisations to implement health and wellbeing initiatives.

The Service Improvement Lead will ensure the Pilot aligns with the national Growing Occupational Health and Wellbeing Together strategy, the Health and Wellbeing Framework, the North East North Cumbria Integrated Care System Workforce strategy and the NHS People Plan.

The role will involve working within a collaborative governance structure. The Service Improvement Lead will report to the Integrated Occupational Health and Wellbeing Board (IOHWB) who will provide governance and strategic oversight for the service, and the associate director of health improvement programmes at the AHSN. The role will be situated within the operational team, which consists of key stakeholders from each of the participating occupational health services.

The Service Improvement Lead will be responsible for producing reports to NHS England and Improvement and the Workforce Steering Group of the North East North Cumbria Integrated Care Board.

The role will involve working with the project co-ordinator to deliver a communication plan to key stakeholders within the project, across the region and nationally, through monthly newsletters and updating the content on the AHSN NENC Growing OHWB webpage.

The Service Improvement Lead will commission an evaluation to measure the impact of the Pilot, to enable spread and adoption of integrated occupational health and wellbeing services regionally and nationally.
