**Overview**

Astra Signs is one of the UK's leading sign makers, established in Manchester in 1984, we have a wealth of experience in producing world class signage for a wide variety of sectors - particularly hospitality, travel & transportation, retail, leisure and international events.

This role is designed to work within the Production Team to support the day-to-day operations of the Print Team.

Within this role you will be required to utilise your strong organisational skills to successfully support the coordination of production activities and completed all allocated print related tasks.

As a Print and finishing operative you are to support the Head of Graphics on a day to day basis, ensuring all tasks set are completed in a safe and timely manner.

Working within an innovative signage business, you will be carrying out a high-paced, challenging, and demanding role, where the ability to work within and outside of a team is essential.

**Key Responsibilities**
- Day-to-day general
- Operating a wide range of digital print equipment
- Establish tasks set on a daily basis and meeting deadlines as given by the Head of production
- Read and interpret drawings and production specifications
- Clean and maintain print machinery
- Match colours for print jobs are per drawings provided
- Complete Graphic finishing assigned tasks
- Problem solving where possible, recording issues, and escalating unresolved issues promptly and appropriately
- Meet production quality and output levels and make sure they are optimised at all times
- Be responsible for the Quality check all finished products before wrapping and packing
- Maintain a safe and organised working environment by following company procedures and wearing appropriate PPE equipment
- Maximising the output of the machines to make sure there's no backlog.
- When required undertake other duties within Stores, Warehouse or Despatch, or other site areas, when requested.
- Work with the coordination team to ensure goods are dispatched in a timely manner
- Actively work as part of the Production team
- Health and Safety
- Adhere to supplied operating instrutions/ Risk Assesments
- Ensure all machines are inspected inline with HSE requirements
- Ensure compliance with all H&S related procedures
- Comply with company training policies and procedures

**Essential Skills, Experience and/or Qualifications**
- Previous experience in a print operative role
- Previous experience working withing a Graphic finishing department/ equipment
- Strong communication skills
- Good time management
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Good IT knowledge (including Microsoft/Google office products)
- The ability to work using your own initiative as well as working within a team
- Good people skills and excellent customer service ethic
- Flexibility
- Problem solving
- Strong organisational skills
- Punctuality
- The ability to multitask and understand how to prioritise their workload

**Travel**

This job position is based from the Astra Signs in Trafford Park but may require the individual to attend on-site meetings

**Salary**: £23,000.00-£25,000.00 per year
