Paediatric Speech and Language Therapist - Combined Community Specialist and Universal/Targeted post

We are seeking a passionate, innovative and motivated Speech and Language Therapist to join our Childrens Speech and Language Therapy Team. We are looking for an individual who demonstrates excellent interpersonal skills with a passion for delivering high standards of care in the heart of the community

The role will be to support the development and delivery of the targeted and universal levels of the speech and language therapy service in line with current commission requirements.

To audit and review outcomes for stakeholders and children accessing targeted and universal speech and language therapy service levels.

To propose service developments which make best use of available resources and reduce duplication across agencies.

This is a combined Community Specialist therapist and Universal/Targeted therapist role and Band 5-6 development opportunity option will be considered

To promote interagency work to ensure all children have appropriate language and communication opportunities to reach their desired outcomes.

Share expertise related to key messages and to model best practise with colleagues, families and practitioners.

To undertake effective and holistic assessment of children referred to understand the functional impact of any speech, language or communication need and the service role in addressing this need.

To coordinate the management of a clinical caseload of children identified as meeting criteria for targeted level response.

Management of specialist clinical caseload in line with service demands.

To establish individualised management and treatment plans, using advanced clinical reasoning and utilising a wide range of evidence based treatment skills and options to formulate highly specialised interventions and programmes of care.

To promote health and reduce inequalities for children, young people, families and communities, so that they may be able to maximise their potential in terms of health, education and social well-being.

Provide supervision to colleagues which facilitates a culture of learning and reflective practice.

Identify audit/research opportunities, initiating, designing and implementing projects and resulting recommendations/ service development proposals.

To work as a member of the integrated team for children throughout the district to ensure high quality coordinated patient care.
