As Strategic Lead for Apprenticeships and Employment Pathways you will support the creation of high-quality opportunities brought about by employer engagement, council procurement and regeneration schemes. You will build partnerships with training providers to ensure that the programme is underpinned by a strong skills offer, relevant to the needs of local employers and work with large corporations to develop a local Apprenticeship Levy sharing platform.

You will put in place structures to help create excellent outcomes for service users - championing pathways for residents from all backgrounds to sustainable career access and progression through various routeways including apprenticeships, equitable internships, and meaningful volunteering opportunities.

**Role Responsibilities**:
As Strategic Lead for Apprenticeships and Employment Pathways you will support the creation of high-quality opportunities brought about by employer engagement, council procurement and regeneration schemes. You will build partnerships with training providers to ensure that the programme is underpinned by a strong skills offer, relevant to the needs of local employers and work with large corporations to develop a local Apprenticeship Levy sharing platform.

You will need to:

- To be the lead officer in the strategic development and management of a new apprenticeship and employment pathways programme, and work with a range of partners to ensure sustainable outcomes and the long-term success of the programme in accordance with the Council’s Industrial Strategy.
- To be the programme lead for the management of multi-sector stakeholder relationships with employment and training partners including employers, training providers, housing partners, resident groups, as well as internal teams including Economic Development, HR, Adult Learning.
- To develop strategies, manage and deliver programme plans and proposals securing stakeholder input and commitment.
- To engage with managers and employers to secure the provision of work placements ensuring that they are sustainable, high quality and provide appropriate support in relevant work environments with a view to meeting current skill gaps.
- To work closely with HR Business Partners and other colleagues to identify and establish career pathways related to internal Apprenticeships.
