**Job description**:
A fantastic opportunity has arisen within HMRC’s Risk, Assurance & Governance team for a dynamic individual wishing to work at the very heart of HMRC decision making. The vital work we do provides expertise that supports and enables a strong risk and assurance culture within our IT delivery group, including commitments to HMRC on behalf of the Director General.

You’ll manage an annual programme of work to support the National Audit Office (NAO) annual IT audit, ensuring all activity is completed to a high quality and on time.

This role is a great opportunity to build your network across HMRC and gain valuable knowledge of the IT estate.

Influencing skills will be key to ensure the work is completed by your stakeholder network and you will be working with senior leaders throughout the course of the annual programme.

We are not looking for qualified auditors for this role, it is a service delivery and stakeholder management role, and you’ll need excellent interpersonal skills to maintain those relationships under pressure.

You’ll also:
Maintain a strong working relationship with Internal Audit and NAO;
- Ensure secure data transfer of material to external auditors;
- Maintain supporting trackers that enable the efficient management of audit process and reporting of recommendation clearance to CDIO Boards;
- Provide challenge where appropriate to both internal customers, suppliers and external auditors.

**Essential Skills**

You must have proven experience of:

- Strong influencing and communication skills (including the ability to influence and communicate at a senior leader level)
- Working under pressure to tight timescales
- Working in a customer focused environment (internal or external)
- Ability to manage multiple deadlines and conflicting priorities
- Management of Risk Practitioner (or willingness to work towards)
- Project/Programme Management Qualification (or willingness to work towards)
