Head of Tech PR

Lotus is transforming from a UK sports car company to a global performance business and brand. Automotive technology in all its forms - and how our customers interact with it - will be a key differentiator for Lotus. This pivotal senior PR role for an experienced PR professional and storyteller is to develop a global tech comms strategy, then ideate, plan, develop and deploy stories about Lotus’ technologies that will act as proof-points of Lotus’ innovation and excellence for those consumers.

**Main Duties & Responsibilities**
- Lead on developing a global strategy for all Lotus automotive technology communications, including definitions, market positioning and competitor benchmarking
- Lead on development and/or modification of key tech messaging around existing and new Lotus cars, plus sharing for global alignment
- To lead the ideation, planning, development and deployment of all communications (eg, film, social, news releases, blogs) covering technology across existing and new Lotus products
- Lead collaboration with Lotus’ global technology hubs (eg, LTIC Germany, LTCC Coventry, WLT China) to ensure product information is available to the global PR teams for external communication
- Collaborate with senior members of the Product, Corporate and Lifestyle PR teams in the planning, updating and global sharing of an editorial calendar, with a regular drum beat of engaging content to meet the needs of different automotive media audiences
- Collaborate with Brand and PR colleagues across the GBC organisation to ensure alignment, efficiency and maximum impact
- Collaborate with regional PR colleagues around the world on all of the above to ensure alignment
- Ensure strategic alignment on global comms narrative with other functional teams, eg, product marketing and retailer training
- Work with and ensure effective use of external comms agencies to support Lotus’ global ambition
- Support in media monitoring and reporting of PR successes to the global business
- Ensure all product comms activity is on budget and in process
- Deputise for Director, Product PR, as required

**Essential criteria**
- Knowledge of the global media and social media landscape, including latest hot topics and trends
- Knowledge of global automotive landscape, including latest hot topics and trends
- Experience of writing and editing editorial assets, eg, press releases, with a world-class focus on attention to detail and consistency
- Automotive OEM or luxury brands PR experience, ideally in a Global or Continental level organisation
- A technical understanding of asset types, file types and usage rights
- UK Driving Licence

**Desirable criteria**
- Experience of working with teams in different functions - design, sales, purchasing, IT.
- Experience of working cross-functionally with teams in global markets such as USA, APAC or European markets is an advantage
- Experience of managing multi-layered budgets
- Experience in digital content systems
- Degree and Marketing experience

**Skills & Abilities**
- A skilled communicator, able to work collaboratively, and with the ability to form and lead teams.
- Highly organised project management skills within the marketing discipline.
