- Job Description:
To support the routine laboratory operations, assist in setting up new services and help make process improvements by performing administrative tasks relating to Safety, Quality and Technical. This includes co-ordinating technical queries, administering process and information documentation, assisting with investigations, supporting with training, co-ordinating basic LIMS changes and other organisational tasks to support the business.
- To administer the process of issuing Standard Operating Procedures ensuring they have been checked by appropriate personnel to reflect current practise, be compliant with relevant quality / safety guidance and be technically sound.
- To create supporting documentation for new methods and process improvements using the relevant controlled documents system.
- To write and maintain accurate and accessible technical information sheets for customers and staff.
- To support Section Heads in ensuring all analytical staff are adequately trained and suitable records / evidence of competence are maintained.
- To help write up technical investigations, record admin changes, document the set-up of new services and support non-conforming work investigations.
- To help capture issues raised internally and externally for discussion and prioritisation at Technical Meetings.
- To attend and help administer the running of regular Technical Meetings.
- To help with incoming queries or requests to Technical Support, providing information, advice and capturing potential development opportunities or improvements.
- To request or make basic edits to the LIMS system in order to set up or improve lab processes.
- To help with the development of new services by providing admin support in the creation of documentation and internal communications.
- To pro-actively seek to make practical improvements to methods and processes in terms of safety, quality of data, efficiency, and environmental considerations at every opportunity.
- To provide administrative support to Continuous Improvement (Kaizen) activities within the business by producing visual aids, process documentation, collating information and assisting with organising workshops, training and events.
- To conduct thorough Health and Safety investigations and Incident Reports to be presented to the Site Responsible Person in a timely manner and monitoring any actions on findings.
- To help administer the waste collection process.
- To support in staff welfare and site safety improvements through administrative or organisational tasks as required by the General Manager / Site Responsible Person.
- Any other reasonable requests to support the business as defined by the Service Support Manager.
