**Principal Technician Pilot Plant**
- Start date: ASAP
- 6 months initially
- Based on site in Slough
- Rate: £14 PAYE

**Job Purpose/Overview**

**Key Responsibilities**
- The Principal Technician Pilot Plant is responsible for:

- Providing technical expertise while supporting Pilot Plant trials
- Calibration and operation of Pilot Plant equipment/machinery
- Upkeep and cleaning of Pilot Plant area and equipment
- Training of less experienced technicians
- Working closely with developers and scientists to ensure collaboration and knowledge transfer
- Ingredient inventory upkeep
- Ingredient weighing and formula trial preparation
- Record documentation e.g. lab book, ingredient lot tracing, experiment observations, trial results
- Following department Quality, Safety and GMP policies

**Context and Scope**

The Principal Technician Pilot Plant role is responsible for following trial test designs provided by cross-functional partners but also providing input and feedback based on technical expertise. The Principal Technician is required to provide troubleshootingand technical guidance for product and process improvements/efficiency's essential for product scale-up. This role should be able to influence without authority by providing input when it comes to the technical challenges/decisions within R&D projects.

**Education & Professional Qualification**

Minimum qualifications: High school diploma, degree or equivalent mandatory or equivalent experience.

**Knowledge/Experience**

Minimum qualifications: Experience in a technical role in the food manufacturing industry - hands-on operational experience with small scale process equipment/machinery.
