**We have an exciting opportunity for an experienced registered clinician to join the Northern Care Alliance Digital Services team as a Clinical Safety Officer (CSO).**
**Main duties of the job**:
As a CSO yours will be a dynamic and essential role ensuring digital transformation is undertaken as safely and effectively as possible. To succeed in this role, you will have experience as a qualified healthcare professional together with some experience in the commissioning, planning and integration of new Digital solutions. Previous experience of working within a clinical safety role in an acute healthcare setting and knowledge of healthcare information technology systems is highly desirable however training in Clinical Safety Assessment & Reporting will be supplied.

You will possess excellent interpersonal and leadership skills, in order to promote the role of clinical safety across cross-functional teams. You will work alongside a multi-disciplinary digital clinical team and be supported by the Executive Director for Digital Services & SIRO, the Associate Director of information Assurance & DPO together with the Chief Clinical Information Officer (CCIO) for the NCA.
**Detailed job description and main responsibilities**:
To act as the appointed Trust Clinical Safety Officer coordinating clinical safety activities associated with EPR and wider digital health systems across the organisation.
The post holder will act as lead specialist for clinical safety governance and clinical risk management for Digital Health Systems.
Will coordinate, support and provide a source of clinical safety expertise to colleagues working across the organisation and in the wider health community.
The post holder will provide specialist training in clinical safety management issues.
The post holder will be an active member of the Clinical Informatics Team and will be responsible for promoting and increasing awareness of clinical safety activities across the organisation and wider health community

- Evidence of continuous professional development
- Clinical Safety Officer Training or willing to attend
**Desirable criteria**:
- A masters degree in a relevant healthcare profession or relevant experience

- Proven experience in the introduction of clinical and clinical support systems
**Desirable criteria**:
- Recent experience leading a clinical safety audit
- Recent experience in managing/ leading a clinical safety audit.
