We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Clinical Pharmacist to join our team at the Northern Care Alliance NHS Foundation Trust. The successful candidate will play a pivotal role in delivering high-quality pharmacy services to patients at one of the busiest neurosciences units in the UK.

About the Role

The Lead Clinical Pharmacist for the Manchester Centre for Clinical Neurosciences will be responsible for leading the neurosciences pharmacy team and providing operational and governance support to the Salford Royal Hospital pharmacy department.

As part of our team, you will have the opportunity to develop your clinical, leadership, and research skills, contributing to the delivery of highly specialised pharmacy services to our patients. We offer a warm welcome to our friendly and supportive teams within the Salford Pharmacy Department and the wider Northern Care Alliance.

Main Responsibilities
  1. Supporting the development of services for patients under the Manchester Centre for Clinical Neurosciences.
  2. Providing clinical expertise and leadership, contributing to team development and research.
  3. Operating as an active prescriber, ensuring medicines reconciliation is completed, and delivering medicines optimisation and safety projects.
  4. Working with the senior clinical pharmacy leadership team to drive forward our clinical pharmacy service for the future.
  5. Supporting the wider medicines optimisation strategy and clinical governance processes, serving as a role model for others.
Person Specification

We are looking for an individual with the following qualifications:

  • Vocational master's degree in pharmacy or equivalent.
  • Post Grad Diploma/ MSc in Clinical Pharmacy.
  • Certification of non-medical Prescribing.

The ideal candidate will have relevant post-qualification clinical pharmacy experience in an acute hospital, including two years in neurosciences.

The estimated annual salary for this position is £60,000 - £80,000 based on the location and industry standards.
