**OVERALL PURPOSE OF JOB**:
To provide a forward-facing, professional and approachable central point of contact to students, potential students and other stakeholders. The post holder will be required to coordinate and monitor the data collection and referral process for the support delivered through the college’s Tuition Fund.

Bishop Burton College includes the Riseholme College campus and the postholder may be required to carry out duties at both campuses.

The following list of duties and responsibilities is not meant to be exclusive. It should be taken as an indicator of the type and level of activity expected of this post.

**MAIN DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES**:

- As part of the wider Student Services team, provide professional support, information, advice and guidance to students, stakeholders and any external enquiries.
- To keep accurate and accessible central records in a variety of formats.
- Liaise with other college departments such curriculum teams, student support, finance, transport, funding and admissions in order to resolve queries.
- Cash handling and recording of relevant financial information.
- Update information for students in a variety of formats to ensure currency and successful promotion of services.
- Coordinate the data regarding the Tuition Fund support and produce reports on request.
- Monitor uptake of the service to identify areas for improvement with key managers.
- Provide statistics and data for MIS on request.
- Provide support and co-ordination for student engagement events such as forums.
- Perform other duties as reasonably correspond to the general character of the post and are commensurate with its level of responsibility.
- Take part in all staff College events such as Open Events, progress evenings and all staff events.

**PERSON SPECIFICATION**

**Qualifications & Training**

**Essential**
- GCSE Maths & English Grade C or above, or equivalent, or willingness to obtain.

**Desirable**
- Level 2 Customer Service qualification or willingness to obtain
- Level 2 IAG (Information Advice and Guidance) qualification, or willingness to obtain.
- First Aid at Work qualification or willingness to obtain.

**Experience**

**Essential**
- Working in a busy customer service environment providing information and advice in a variety of formats.

**Desirable**
- Experience of building relationships with various stakeholders, including internal/external staff, local authorities, voluntary organisation.
- Experience of working with diverse groups of students
- Recording of data related to students.
- Experience of report writing
- Experience of using data packages and systems to record, monitor and analyse information.

**Skills & Special Knowledge**

**Essential**
- Excellent customer care skills
- Good administrative skills and able to keep accurate records
- A high standard of organisational skills and ability to meet deadlines
- Excellent interpersonal skills as well as verbal and written communication skills
