We are looking for a dedicated administrative officer with some previous administrative experience in working for an Orthoptic, Ophthalmology or similar hospital department to cover a substantive 37.5hrs /1WTE full time post Monday to Friday for the Orthoptic Department in clinic 9 Ophthalmology

You would be working with an experienced team of 21 Orthoptists, 3 Orthoptic Assistants and 1 Eye Clinic Liaison Officer that provide a busy and comprehensive service for both UHCW and St Cross Rugby hospitals. You will be involved with the delivery of inpatient and outpatient appointments and assist with the administrative duties to deliver the extensive community paediatric vision programme for Coventry and North Warwickshire.

You will act as first point of contact for Orthoptic patients and staff queries and work closely with the clinical teams across the trust to ensure we are providing safe and effective patient care.

To provide comprehensive and confidential administrative and clerical support within the Orthoptic Department, in accordance with Department and Trust standards, policies and procedures.

To assist with the administrative duties to allow day to day operational management of the services to be smoothly delivered. This includes the delivery of a comprehensive Community School Vision Screening Programme in Coventry Rugby and North Warwickshire
1. Ensure that all work is carried out in accordance with the Orthoptic department and Trust guidelines, policies and procedures. Identify issues and act accordingly.
2. Assist in the setting up of daily Orthoptic clinics and ensure appropriate information for patients is in correct hospital file.
3. Be responsible for data entry including community service and ECLO service, production of ad-hoc reports
