Respect & Inclusion Lead

Remote, United Kingdom Housing 21 Full time

**Hours: Full time - 70 hours over two weeks (nine-day fortnight)**

**Salary: £53,832 per annum**

**Closing date: 4 January 2023**

**Proposed interview dates**:
**First stage - 12 January 2023**

**Second stage - 16 January 2023**

Strength lies in differences, not similarities. Help us to get stronger together as our new Respect and Inclusion Lead.

We’re looking for a knowledgeable and passionate Respect and Inclusion expert to be our guiding light on this area at Housing 21. We're proud to be a member of the Housing Diversity Network and a Disability Confident Employer, and as an Investors in People (IIP) Platinum organisation, we’re already in the top two percent of organisations assessed, but we’re not stopping there; we know there’s always more we can do to get even better. We’ve worked hard over the last year to co-create a Respect and Inclusion Charter with our residents and employees, and you’ll be key in helping us embed this across the organisation.

A key part of your role will include further developing and leading the delivery of the Respect and Inclusion Strategy for Housing 21. You’ll identify and deliver key initiatives that will support Housing 21’s aim of becoming a more inclusive organisation, including influencing the culture. If you put respect, inclusion, and diversity at the heart of what you do, and are as passionate about ensuring Housing 21 is a great place to live and work as we are, our Respect and Inclusion Lead role could be a perfect fit.

You’ll work closely with leaders and key stakeholders across all parts of the organisation to drive our Respect and Inclusion Strategy and provide specialist support and advice on diversity and inclusion-related matters. We are committed to creating and sustaining an inclusive environment for all; our residents, our employees and our partners.

You’ll champion inclusivity and nurture a culture of belonging, where everyone feels valued and respected. We need you to act as a critical friend, challenging organisational decisions to ensure that respect and inclusion is a key consideration in decision-making. In return we offer great benefits including a nine-day fortnight working pattern from day one (this means a three-day weekend every other week).

Sound good? If you’re looking for an opportunity where you can make a real difference at an organisation with a strong social purpose, take a look at the job description below for further details.

What we are looking for:
**The essential requirements for the role include**:

- Significant experience of leading or influencing an organisation’s EDI agenda.
- Experience of challenging and changing behaviour, including but not limited to unconscious behaviour.
- Knowledge of best practice HR processes to improve inclusivity.
- Experience of supporting and delivering on significant organisational change.
- Excellent influencing skills, confident to challenge and negotiate.
- Excellent interpersonal skills and with the confidence to deal with complex issues
- Graduate level education or equivalent experience.

**Who we are**:
Housing 21 is a leading not for profit provider of Retirement Living and Extra Care properties for older people of modest means. We deliver affordable, quality housing with person-centred care that promotes independent living.

We operate in over 240 local authority areas managing around 22,000 properties. We are the largest provider of Extra Care providing both housing and care and deliver 38,000 hours of care each week across over 145 Extra Care services.

Why us?

It’s a great time to join us. Did we mention we’re a Platinum Investors in People organisation, placing us among the top two percent of organisations assessed?

We’re passionate about people and support our employees to do what they do best, whether that’s through flexible working, learning new skills or being part of a friendly and supportive workplace culture. We also offer a great benefits package including Blue Light Card discount, holiday trade scheme, volunteer days, Occupational Sick Pay, Occupational Maternity Pay and more.

With one of the largest development programmes for older people in England there has never been a more exciting time to join Housing 21.
