Express Recruitment are delighted to be working for a well-respected local authority who are recruiting for a Procurement Officer to join their analytical team to support with the management of procurement across the business.

Within this role you will be required to assist and lead on the procurement of goods and services as required In order to achieve the departmental strategic objectives outlined in the contract. You will be responsible for managing the full procurement process of quotes and tenders, ensuring an up to date knowledge of EU procurement directives and relevant legislation in order to fulfil the vacancy requirements.

**Roles & Responsibilities**
- Manage the full end to end procurement process of quotes and tenders
- Work with commissioners to develop service specifications
- Guide and assist corporate customers on best procurement practice
- Monitor and repot on supplier spending
- Respond and resolve supplier and customer enquiries

**Skills & Experience**
- Knowledge of EU procurement directives and relevant legislation
- Ability to analyse and interpret performance information
- Excellent communication skills both written and verbal
- Up to date understanding of issues affecting public sector procurement
