Hourly Rate: £19

Working Hours: Monday to Friday, 9:00 AM – 5:00 PM

Harper Recruitment Group is collaborating with a local authority to recruit a temporary Procurement Officer responsible for overseeing procurement activities from initiation to completion.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Overseeing procurement activities for low-risk and low to medium-value projects.
  • Formulating and finalizing service specifications.
  • Leading procurement initiatives for the awarding of contracts for the provision of goods and services to fulfill local authority needs.
  • Ensuring adherence to best procurement practices for both corporate and departmental clients.
  • Analyzing supplier expenditure to guarantee value for money and maintain competitiveness.
  • Ensuring compliance with legal and regulatory requirements.

Candidate Profile:

  • Possession of CIPS certification or equivalent experience.
  • Demonstrated professional procurement experience within the public sector.
  • Strong communication abilities.
  • Proficient negotiation skills.
  • Experience in reporting and analysis.
  • Familiarity with purchase order and e-procurement systems.

Additional Information: This position is a temporary contract expected to last for three months, with a strong possibility of extension. There is potential for hybrid working arrangements, with the requirement to be present in the office on specific days.
