**About the role**
You will be working within the school's specialist Autism Resource Provision within the mainstream school working with students with an EHCP statement of Autism. The provision has up to 10 students, however they begin the school year on a staggered startso as not to overwhelm new students. You will be working in a classroom assisted by an SEN Teacher and another Learning Support Assistant. They use a range of Autism specific communication and management tools including PECS, SCERTS, Attention Autism, TEEACHand Colourful Semantics. You will assist students in lessons and encourage interactions with their peers as well as being involved in learning, behavioural and social interventions. Individuals with prior experience working with children or adults with Autismare highly desirable applicants for this role.
**About the school**
This is a mixed mainstream Church of England Primary School for around 200 students aged 4-11 years old, with an on sight Autism Resource Provision for up to 10 students with Autism. They work closely with parents, Speech and Language Therapists, OccupationalTherapists and other professionals to develop personalised programmes for their children. Inclusion is an important aspect of the provision and ensuring children access learning opportunities with their mainstream peers is a priority. The ARP is a low arousal,communication friendly environment and our children have access to a sensory room and soft play room for a variety of therapies and interventions. Our parents also have access to our parent room, where they can access information books and resources. The schoolis a vibrant, inclusive and creative school where excellence is celebrated and children are inspired to learn in a positive, stimulating environment, which encourages independence and self-belief in their happy, safe and supportive school.
