Birmingham, United Kingdom Birmingham Children’s Trust Full time

Welcome to the Edge of Care (EoC) Service. We are dedicated to safely prevent and reduce the number of children and young people entering care and provide direct and intensive support to children aged 8- 18 years old and their families in their homes over a period of 4 - 12 weeks and beyond if there is a need.

We work with:

- children at imminent risk of entry to care or where a rehabilitation home plan is in danger of breakdown
- support planned rehabilitation plans when children are returning home
- children at risk of coming into care due to frequent missing episodes and/or risk of sexual and criminal exploitation
- children who have been permanently excluded from school or at risk of permanent exclusion
- families where family breakdown related in some way to child’s additional needs
- families where there is no parental control or ‘felt parental presence’
- families with high level of conflict/aggression (between parents, child and siblings)

We are all about building on family strengths and coping strategies and incorporating a strong degree of challenge. We are a forward
- thinking service and have a can-do attitude. We hold and contain families as a group, team, Service.

Are you committed to improving relationships between children and their parents or main carers? Are you committed to keeping children with their families, where it is safe? Do you have a good understanding of safeguarding and are you someone who has experience of working with children and families in their homes and managing crisis?

We have excellent training opportunities so what is going to be? Are you ready to make a difference? If you are, then we would like to hear from you and look forward to meeting you
