We are recruiting on behalf of our client who is looking to recruit a _**Contract Works Officer**_ in Birmingham to support with the Carbon Neutral Initiative.

**You will need to have**:

- an ability to diagnose building faults and prepare schedules of work
- the ability to manage contracts and contractors including: - Managing the Client/Contractor relationship
- ability to performance measure
- communication skills to enable you to relate to employees and customers and negotiate with Contractors and other organisations

**Skills & Ability**
- written communication skills to enable you to write reports and letters
- dealing with the public
- Knowledge of the current Building Regulations
- commitment to the delivery of the highest quality of service with an emphasis on the importance of the customers’ varied needs and translation of needs into practical solutions
- a building qualification or comparable level of technical experience/knowledge relating to property repair and maintenance
- Qualification to ONC/B Tech in Building Services or City and Guilds London Institute Advanced Craft Certificate in Electrical Engineering or equivalent
- an understanding of the Institute of Electrical Engineers Regulations, the Gas Safety (Installation and Use Regulations) and other Engineering Service Regulations
