We are currently looking for an Advanced Practitioner in Ultrasound/ Sonographer to join the team at Liverpool Women’s Hospital.

**Main duties of the job**

The Sonographer will be involved in the delivery of Obstetric, Gynaecological and General ultrasound services to all patients attending the imaging department, satellite units and wards, with some optional weekend and evening shifts. They will be able to organise their workload efficiently and liase with referrers and other staff to optimise service delivery.

The Post Holder will work unsupervised in delivering aspects of ultrasound scanning that may include:

- Obstetrics and Gynaecology scanning
- Abdominal scanning
- Advanced fetal monitoring
- Leg vein Doppler scans

The Sonographer will act independently, interpreting scan findings and producing written free text reports on examinations performed. Excellent communication skills are essential due to the need to deliver highly sensitive and potentially upsetting information to both patients and relatives.
- HCPC registered
- Experience within NHS
- Experience working at a Band 7 level
- PGD in ultrasound or equivalent
- Obstetric and gynaecological ultrasound experience
- The role requires Professional Registration and Qualification evidence
