Job Overview

We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated individual to join our team as an Obstetric Ultrasound Sonographer. As a key member of our imaging department, you will be responsible for delivering high-quality obstetric ultrasound services to our patients.

Main Duties

As an Obstetric Ultrasound Sonographer, you will be working under the clinical supervision of our experienced sonographers to deliver all aspects of obstetric ultrasound procedures. You will be responsible for scanning a variety of obstetric patients, composing detailed reports, and participating in quality assurance activities.

Person Specification

Essential Criteria

  • Current skills in respect of radiographic procedures
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, including a good command of the English language
  • Ability to prioritize tasks and work under pressure
  • Ability to manage change and work on own initiative
  • Ability to train and mentor staff
  • Ability to work statutory on-call and weekend rota
  • Good time management and ability to meet deadlines

Desirable Criteria

  • IT skills, including word processing, email, and spreadsheets
  • Research and audit experience

Qualifications and Learning

  • DCR or degree in radiography
  • HCPC registration
  • Eligibility to enroll on the ultrasound program at the University of Cumbria
