**Role Overview**:
Based within the Early Help Service the purpose of the role is to provide a high-quality support and information to children and young people who are victims of domestic abuse. And provide accessible resources, support and advice to front line practitioners to develop the children’s support offer; providing safety planning, appropriate support and advocacy to minimise the risk posed to victims and their children and families.

**Key Responsibilities**:

- Support front facing professionals with information, support and advice. Enhancing the domestic abuse offer within Oldham.
- Support and develop a range of appropriate resources for other front facing staff, children’s social care and school staff.
- Offer direct support to children and young people where appropriate
- Manage a caseload of clients (children) where appropriate, including those classed as high and medium risk, in order to reduce risk and keep victims safe.
- Work within a multi-agency framework.

**Key Requirements**:
To succeed in this role you will need as a minimum:

- Experience of working directly with victims of domestic abuse, advocacy and support work.
- Detailed knowledge of the working practices around domestic abuse, the Multi-Agency Risk Assessment Conference (MARAC) process and statutory agency responsibilities.
- Comprehensive understanding of the needs of victims of domestic abuse and the impact on themselves and their children and families.
- Previous direct work with children and families.
