This role is part of a the team responsible for running the £5 billion Teesside Pension Fund, part of the Local Government Pension scheme, which provides pension benefits for around 80,000 scheme members mainly across the local area.

Reporting to the Head of Pensions Governance and Investments, the Pensions Officer - Investment Operations, will have the responsibility of maintaining records of the Fund’s investment assets and maintaining the integrity of these asset records.

In addition, the post-holder will monitor and account for all investment income, providing suitable reconciliations to ensure its accuracy and assist with committee support functions and other administration tasks as required by the Pension Governance and Investment team.

The Pension Officer - Investment Operations, will undertake a variety of investment operational and financial tasks. These will include, but are not limited to:

- Process and settle transactions either through the custodian’s bespoke software system or outside the custodian’s systems and in accordance with industry required critical deadlines._
- Perform foreign exchange calculations to ensure all overseas transaction sales and costs are accurately re-based back to GB Pounds._
- Property transactions, including accounting for rental income, invoicing and other costs._
- Raise invoices, purchase orders, facilitate invoice payments and maintain adequate records of these general transactions._
- Develop and maintain systems and processes to reconciliation to ensure the integrity of the Fund’s investment asset records and ensure the Fund receives all investment income due from all sources._
- Coordinate with the Pensions Officer - Financial and Accounting on asset cleansing processes to ensure all assets are correctly categorised and accounted for appropriately._
- Provide support and assist with the management of the Fund’s cash flow forecasting and monitoring cash levels at the Fund’s custodian._

The post-holder is expected to study and attain a relevant qualification such as Level 3 Business Administration, Association of Accounting Technicians (AAT) or Investment Administration Qualification (IAQ).

Support and assistance is provided to achieving this required qualification.

The Pensions Officer - Investment Operations will be provided with support and assistance to reach the highest desirable qualification level.
